Lloyds Bank to close Royton branch.

Lloyds have announced plans to close 49 branches across the country losing 350 jobs, Roytons Market Square branch will close in November, however more new jobs will be created as it responds to customer demand for new services.  This will be the  fifth bank to close in the town.

Re: Lloyds Bank to close Royton branch.

I hate banking.  Still can’t access my HSBC bank account because they won’t believe that I’m me.

I also think I have about £300 in YB somewhere but I can’t remember any of my special answers to their questions either.

Nor can I sort any of it out because I’m always at work when the banks are open, and I have better things to do with my annual leave than go to the bank.

Hate it all!
(Sorry, must be grumpy today).

Re: Lloyds Bank to close Royton branch.

I had a letter from Lloyd’s this morning telling me about the Royton closure.  I don’t have an account there this letter relates to my Aunt who died in 2011.  I closed her account when I wound up her affairs and I have written several times to say she is a deceased Aunt and no longer requires a bank account.  They take not a scrap of notice so I won’t be replying to this latest piece of news.

This closure of town center Banks is a disgrace. I am all in favour of internet banking but sometimes you do need to wander into an office and speak to someone.

Re: Lloyds Bank to close Royton branch.

We received our letters today, the branch closes on 25th September and we have to use the oldham branch after that, its has the same manager.   Of all the banks thats closed the TSB now Lloyds must have been the most at risk, been a customer since i was an apprentice and i always liked it being small and not one of the big ones,  its suffered more than most but will stick with it, i will miss it as Oldham is so busy and impersonal.

So that's no banks in Royton now?
I wonder what the shops do with their day's takings?

Look on the bright side we could get a couple more shops in the old Bank premises,
